Ty immediately got that Christmas-day light in his eyes, an open-mouth grin splitting his face in half. "You serious?! Aura! Can I? Daddy, daddy, please?" He suddenly rounded on Gyre, jumping a little as he spoke, his odd tail wagging wildly.
"Uhh..." Gyre blinked, then looked up at Aura. Well Gyre had to go on another trip soon...might as well let the kid finally spend time with his mother. "What's the occasion?" he asked though, just to be sure. He smirked. "Not that I mind, of course you can. But you got anything planned?"
Ty didn't wait to hear his mother's answer, grabbing Gyre around the middle and hugging him in thanks.

"It's my birthday tomarrow, and I wanted to spend it with Ty. Just a little exploring that's all." It was obvious that she was lying, she never told the truth about where she was headed unless it was somewhere like home.
"Maybe if he's really good, I'll let him fly the ship." She let out a little laughed, and smiled. It wasn't that hard, her ship was easier to fly than the Sky Corp ship she had in a hanger back at her place.

Gyre tried not to look worried at the suggestion of his little seven-year-old driving a colossus. But Ty was now leaping to hug Aura around the middle, tight. "Mom, can I really? Haha! Wow, freaking sweet!" Okay, so he called her "mom" on occasion. Occasions like these.
"All right. Sure, just...take care of him!" Gyre said the last four words almost like a gentle reprimand, bordering on sarcasm in tone--but there was nothing sarcastic about how serious he was. Then he seemed to relax a little, his fur lying flat though he hadn't noticed it spiking up at all before. "Then I guess I should give you your present now, right?" he offered.
Jet's ears perked. Gyre had gotten her a present already? Then the flamehound was wondering why he'd felt a pang of guilt and jealousy that he hadn't gotten her something as well. It wasn't as though he'd forgotten--he had known her birthday was coming up--but he would pretend he'd forgotten.

Aura purred as she was hugged, it was good for her to have moments like these, after what she went through with Jet just a few minutes ago. It really helped. "If you want, I'd really like that. But it doesn't matter." Honestly she didn't care what it was, she had tons of stuff already, gems, clothes, veichles, airboards, two airships, and much more.
But as for Jet, she didn't care, she could always wait, as she knew he would always get her something, birthday or christmas she always got something from him.

Jet also knew he would get her something. When she came back or maybe he'd mail it--that is, he paid a special mail service to get it to her ship. By mail service he meant a funny little orange fox with two tails who was very eager to use his technology to not only track down Aura's ship but also fly to it.
Gyre looked hopeful, though, as he pulled out a strange platinum chain from his pocket. And on the end of it dangled a rune shaped from silver, a twisting, contorted rune, three-dimensional. Runes painted on surfaces or on fellhound fur could only be two-dimensional, and so it was believed that three-dimensional runes were twice as powerful. Again, just unusual fellhound superstitions and Aura wouldn't be able to fully appreciate it he knew, but he handed it to her anyways. And another he pulled out on a thicker, black chain, much less decorative, and he handed this one to Ty. "Supposedly..." he began hesitantly, "things like that can strengthen the bond between the two people who wear them. On a psychic level, if you will...only you can't communicate thoughts through it, only very strong emotions." He shrugged. "Well, heh. At least that's what they say. It's never worked for me, but..."
Ty was carefully examining the new gift with interest, before he slipped it on next to the necklace Aura had given him earlier. Wow, Ty was wearing a lot of bling-bling now (for a guy).
Jet again was a little disappointed with himself for not getting her something, so he muttered an apology and an excuse and said, "I'll get you something later, Aura, promise." But he was suddenly wondering about what Gyre had said. Did that mean Gyre had worn one of those weird rune-necklaces once? And if so, who had been wearing the other one?

((XD, I'm going to guess that Aura had been wearing the other? ^^; ) Aura smiled and moved forward, giving Gyre a quick hug, she loved things like this, no matter what they were, old relics, shiny things, even stuff that she could wear or use it some way. It didn't matter to her. "Thanks Gyre!" She said happily, purring as she pulled back, and she turned to Jet. "Don't worry, I know you will. You always keep your word don't you?" That last comment may have been mean't to make Jet feel even more guilty, as he had promised they'd be together no matter what the other did or whatever happened that they'd love eachother. She then turned to Jet. "Wanna ride on your mother's Air Express to the ship?"

((Heh...actually, no. Aura would have known it. Ooh, mystery, mystery... Sorry, I think I'm starting to get some of my mad plot muse back.))
Ty grinned wide. "You bet!" Flying around on Aura's air currents was a completely different experience from flying around on Gyre's. The galehound's were uncontrolled (and perhaps more fun that way) whereas Aura's were carefully concentrated. A master.
"Ah, do you need to pack anything?" Gyre asked suddenly. He felt a spike of fear--born of uncertainty--in his throat.
Ty laughed lightly and gave his dad a firm hug. "You worry too much, dad. If we need anything just have Jet mail it."
"Right...well, keep in touch. Love you."
"You too, dad!" And then Ty was once more at Aura's side, grabbing her hand. "I'm ready!"

"Okay!" The wind started up around them, very strong currents, not interferring with anything else. They're paws lifted off the ground and Aura's grip tightened for a moment, then she realeased Ty and it was like floating in space.
They were quickly high above the streets and headed for the huge gap in the village's roof. "See ya later guys! I'll bring him back safely, maybe just a little scratch or two, don't worry Gyre! I'll look after him!" Normally she would smile normally, but this time when she smiled it was like a little kid, an angel at one point, then planning something when his parents left the room.

Gyre gave a worried grimace and a soft, low, short whine. Ty's laughter echoed against the high ice walls before he was gone. And Gyre had forgotten to ask when they'd be back...
Jet smirked. "You worry too much. She can handle 'im."
"Jet...she marched us into a Sky corps ship!"
"Well....we lived, didn't we?"
"That isn't helping!"
They were bantering again like brothers, like they used to. They hadn't even spoken much in a long while. Then Jet was walking away and the moment ended on a hard note.

Aura and Ty landed on a small icy field, a few rock walls around them to hide and protect the ship, massive, barely smaller than the Sky Corp ship she had, but redesigned and much better. It had smaller, but faster engines, it was more sleek and curved, giving it the appearance of a high-tech cruise ship. One that looked like it could fly, and there seemed to be alot more windows. On the sides, the word "AURORA" was painted, the ships name.
A small ramp was open, leading inside.
"Like it? I designed it myself!" Aura explained, very proud of herself.

Ty rubbed his arms and shuffled his feet, shivering. Inside the dome it was warm from all the firehounds, but out here is was absolutely freezing. But that made his grin seem almost frozen in place, as was the bright excitement in his eyes. "It's g-g-great! Can we go i-inside?" He didn't wait for an answer, pausing only to take a sweeping glance around at the surrounding ocean and ice scenery (he didn't get to come up here often), and then he dashed inside, hardly knowing what to expect.
Well it was warm in here, that was for sure. But not from fires--the smell wasn't right. This was the smell of heating vents, though Ty didn't know that yet. He hadn't been on this ship for at least a good number of years. He turned around, grinning wide. "What can it do?"

"Fly, go really, fast, go under water, there's hotsprings, and arena, training room, it can blow things up, go high enough to see stars during the day, I told you about those, remember? It can do all sorts of fun movements, oh, and I'm thinking... Of, getting a landing area for it back in the village... If they'll let, me, there's a little vote on it... Should'a checked, but oh well..."
She clicked a button and the door closed, they were in a hallway, several doors lining the hall, they all had runes on the signs, Ty wouldn't be able to read them because they weren't Fellhound, only Aura and possibly Jet(since she may have taught him some of her Tribes.) could read them, through thankfully there were english translations.
The hallway walls were a grayish white, like inside a somesort of super high-tech space ship. "But remember, you only get to fly if you behave. I'm not your dad, so my rules aren't as strict, but you still have to listen to me? Okay? No messing around, I don't wanna have this thing destroyed."

((Heh, Fellhounds don't have votes... They have an alpha--though it's not quite a monarchy. Though I don't think...hm...I forgot to set one up for this village. Maybe they're still waiting on one. That would explain why Aura doesn't have an answer yet--they'd be fighting too much over it. ^^ ))
Ty followed her through the halls, frowning and puzzling at the unusual runes. Then he listened to her lecture with one ear raised, the other rather ignoring her. He wondered exactly what that would mean. When adults said something like that it was usually either a nice way of saying "I'm going to be hounding you the entire time," or it was a last warning to be hardly even noticed before everything fell to chaos.
But Ty did manage this much comfort to her: an angel grin and a confident, "No worries, Aura. I don't wanna die, heheh."
And he took a seat, in the pilot's chair, actually. "Can I fly now?" he asked excitedly. Even though getting off the ground was probably the second hardest--landing being the first.

Aura sighed and came up behind Ty, leaning on the back of the seat, she shook her head slowly. "You don't even know what anything does and you want to fly... How about after it's been in the air awhile okay, the engines need to warm up." She was being as nice as possible, if it were Gyre he would never let him fly this thing. "I promise you'll get to fly it through."
She stood up and turned around, heading back over to the door. "There's a room, I wanna show you first through! It's really nice!"

Ty looked over his shoulder, ears flicked back with mild disappointment, but he'd known he'd be turned down anyways. So he got up and nodded. "Sure, sure. What is it?" he asked, following her out the door at a half-jog to keep up.
He wondered when he'd get to drive the ship and where they were going and why and if he'd make any friends and what he would see. So he asked the most obvious question first--"Can I get a pet?"
Heh, okay, so never mind, that was random.
