It was midnight, the exact second that Aura had been born all those years ago, on Gale Mountain because the wind village had been destroyed. She sat on a ice bench, or it appeared to be stone because of the light, her head being held up by her hands as she stared out blankly down one of the village's streets.
She had come back just for the day, taking Ty back to Gyre just for the day, then she'd take off with him, probably not coming back for a few months, maybe bringing Ty back but then taking off on her own for a LONG time. She didn't even think about coming back really... But she'd sent Jet a little, through Aura didn't put her name on it. Through from the way she wrote Jet would be able to tell, hopefully through, he'd give her want she wanted for her birthday, and she was waiting for him here.

Jet might not come. He'd been rather cross with her before, hadn't he? Hadn't he... They were both confused and Jet was reluctant. It wasn't spite, not anymore. He didn't hate Aura, had never hated her, and now he didn't even resent her. He just...wished he could be done sometimes.
Moonlight and starlight brushed the icy ground, the buildings and the mounds of snow and ice that were caves or tunnel entrances. A fellhound song broke out, as it did almost every night. A long, extended howl, not lonely, but not war-mongering. Just a song, letting others know she was there. And more joined in, over time. A low male howl, a high female song, and a young pup's yipping bark. All taking up different pitches in their eerie song, moving up and down but never hitting the same note at the same time.
And through the streets, a few fellhounds roamed. Some were lit like torches--flamehounds, spreading a pool of light around themselves.
One of these torch-like bodies approached Aura, ears drawn forward. "Hey...are you all right, miss?" he asked in a low voice. You didn't have to look at him to know it wasn't Jet. He had blue flames, like Jet, and he was probably also right around Jet's age. But his flames were blue and his runes black, black, black. Bright sky-blue eyes looked down at her in mild curiosity, his face wearing a frown. "You look sad..." Not that it was any of his concern, but maybe he was just a sympathetic fellow. Fellhounds could be that way...on occasion...

Aura looked up, by looking at her eyes you'd think she was just about to start crying, but it didn't matter did it. Her ear's twitched as she listened, hoping for Jet to suddenly appear, this was just to make sure she was ready to move on, nothing else, it wasn't mean't to be real.
"N-no... I'm fine, just waiting for something... and, I... kinda, missing someone... That's all... Don't worry about it..." She let out a sigh.

"Really? Who? I uh...might be able to help you find him," the flamehound suggested hesitantly. She was a pretty girl, so maybe it wasn't so odd that he should be wanting to help her. He was about Jet's age, so maybe he did know him and how to find him.
"Ah, don't cry, Aura," he moaned a little, his eyes narrowing when he saw her own watering eyes. Yes, he knew her name, apparently. But lots of fellhounds did--they'd have to, really. The only outsider allowed into the village was actually rather well-known about.
He didn't presume to sit down next to her or anything, but he leaned forward and attempted a comforting smile. "What's wrong?"
Yes, he was being a little too friendly, a little too nosy. But he didn't mean to be rude, obviously. Good intentions at a bad time, maybe, that was all.

She sniffed, tears coming down her face as she looked up slowly. "I'm looking for Jet... He's got blue flames... kinda like you... I used to hang around with him alot, I... asked him to meet me here..." She stood up slowly and shook her head.
'He's not coming here through... I just know it... He never does keep promises anymore, and he's supposed to be my friend..." A little bit of anger swelled up inside her, couldn't he do just one thing for her? That one thing she asked him in her letter was all she wanted.
"I... I hate him! He doesn't even care about me anymore..." The wind picked up slightly, but then calmed. "I... It's not fair..."

Suddenly the flamehound was grimacing--not liking the rush of wind. He hoped that was a galehound that caused that, and not Aura. Another thing well-known around here--Aura was a master wielder of the winds... And that was scary, especially when you consider that just galehounds were powerful enough, and someone with at least four times that power coursing in her veins having a mental breakdown right next to him...of course he was nervous!
The flamehound spoke quickly, though he flinched away from her a little. "Hey, hey...I'm sure he's coming, no worries. Just...I dunno, maybe something came up. I mean...why else would he not be here?" He looked up at her again and his meaning was a little clearer. She was more than just pretty, she was beautiful... He assumed that of course any guy shouldn't hate a girl like that. Or he should at least show up... Yes, definitely something had to have him detained. Why else would he not be here?

Aura calmed down, only a little, her breathing was still a little too much, taking in a few deep breathes every moment to try and calm herself, and eventually the wind calmed down too and she relaxed, or atleast she wasn't angry anymore she just moved forward and wrapped her arms around the flamehound, crying slowly. She needed someone to cry to didn't she?
"You... t-think so...?"
((You gonna have him come soon? Otherwise, Aura might just go all WILD and blow the part of the village she's in apart, losing control, and all that. Into her battle form, where she doesn't have any control, like a wild animal, just attacks and kills, and hard to calm.))

((Heh, just go along with it, Sol. All will be revealed in time... *does dojo cross-legged stance*))
The fellhound jerked a little when she wrapped her arms around him, his heart hammering and his face coloring in an almost familiar way. And then he had her arms around her in return, comforting, until he reminded himself that he wasn't supposed to do that and he pulled his hands back, firmly clasping them behind his back. He swallowed, trying to get back on task.
"Aura...sorry, but, um...I don't mean to uh..." Ah, how to approach this? "We fellhounds don't...usually gosip, heh. But uh...I don't know. We do...sort of know your story. Between Jet and whatever your kid's name is, it got spread around. And uh...sorry, really, I am. Sorry if I'm being...rude, but... You have a kid and a guy who could be your husband. Why're you after Jet?" Yes, that was a very personal question, wasn't it?

Anger swelled up insider her again, but not towards this guy, and the wind didn't pick up this time, it was all controlled. "Because he's the only one I've ever loved... I never loved the other, it was all an accident... It was never mean't to happen anyway, I was tired... got drunk, came home and it sort of happened... I didn't do it cause I wanted to... Ty's an accident too, I want him... But it was never mean't to happen..." She sighed and just stood there holding onto the flamehound, crying, and letting her anger die away and probably for good this time.
"I feel alone... and I hate it..."

Silence welcomed her words for a moment. Then a forlorn voice answered her. "I'm sorry, Aura," the fellhound muttered. In Jet's voice. In Jet's tormented, ashamed, cringing, bitter, self-hating, wretched voice, and all those other adjectives you care to throw in there that would paint the man who hated himself right now more than he'd ever hated anything in his life.
The fellhound was black-furred now, though the flames were still blue. The runes, blue. Jet's hair, Jet's face. His eyes were closed, though, afraid to look at her. Afraid to return her hug, though he wanted to comfort her, but instead he was expecting a solid slap. He deserved that for the trick he'd just pulled. He'd never tried to trick her before, not ever. It had never occurred to him before. He'd never been stupid enough to want to try it, and now he remembered why.
He bit his lip, eyes closed tighter, anticipating her revenge. She'd kill him for this. She had to. Then the abnormality that was the world's only fellshifter could lie in his grave forever, and Aura could never be hurt by him again.

Aura's eyes widened then suddenly narrowed and she pulled back, she would've attacked him right then and there, probably summoning up some giant tornado just to kill him and not caring who else got hurt, but as soon as the anger came, it went, left and quickly dissappeared.
She looked up at him, her eye's still wet with tears. "You b*t*rd..." She said slowly, through it was obvious she didn't mean it. "Don't every do that again... it's not funny..."

"No...it's not," Jet agreed coldly, eyes still closed as though afraid she would explode into a beast if he looked. "I'm sorry, I just..." Just what? He couldn't tell the truth--the truth sounded idiotic, which it was. But...it had sounded pretty good at the time was all. "I just...I wanted to..." His ears were already so plastered to his skull, but somehow they dipped back even further, but he forced himself to open his eyes, staring down at his feet. "Aura...I can't...I can't do this. It's not that I don't want to, but..." No, it didn't make sense. So Jet stopped trying to explain it. Stopped trying to explain that he wanted to start over so bad, and how he couldn't face Aura, and taking on someone else's face, almost like starting over...if only it would have worked. But Aura loved Jet, for Jet. She couldn't love anyone else. Well...maybe now she could. That was a nasty trick, after all.
"You can slap me, you know," he said, swallowing and forcing himself to look up at her. "I deserve it. I just...I'm sorry, I just wanted to know...that you weren't just playing games with me. That you actually meant it... You didn't seem to mean it to Gyre, after all. I just...wanted to make sure I wasn't the next idiot on your list." That was a harsh way of saying it, but the reality was that Jet had proved himself the idiot.

Aura moved forward and hugged Jet again, shaking her head slowly, just letting all the sadness flow out of her slowly, this was really hard for her too, all the emotions, it was just too confusing and too hard on her, her mind and heart were damaged already. "Shh... It's okay, and you...? An idiot? Jet, you're not even close... You wouldn't fall into something like that, let alone... Even think of having a kid... I know you..." She held onto him tightly afraid that he might just disappear.
"Could you... Take on that form again? Please... It hurts both of us, I know that... But it makes me feel better... Or atleast you could make yourself I little taller and a bit more musclers, softer voice too..." That last part was a joke, but she was serious about him changing form, through if you listened, it didn't really seem like a joke, except for her small laugh.
"If it hurts... You can alteast pretend to be someone else... To ease you're pain as well as mine, and I'm not gonna hurt you..."

Jet shivered. And considered it. Seriously considered it. He almost wanted it. He did want it. But it wouldn't matter anyways, would it? Could a fresh face really heal that sort of thing? Jet knew it wouldn't, and suddenly he didn't want to. But she did. And if it made it easier for her...well of course he eagerly would. Anything for her.
He transformed, let his fur change from black to ash-gray to moon-white, and his runes got darker and changed shape and position. His hair was a little more spiked, his muzzle a little broader, more strong, his muscles a little more bulging. But there was no denying there was Jet in there. Somehow, once you actually knew it was him, you could sense it. Still...
"Heh...will this do?" he offered, but his voice was deeper, softer, but deeper. Something about this didn't feel right. But it was just for a while. One night, actually, that's all she'd asked.

"...Perfect..." Aura hugged him tightly, the winds picking up slightly until you could see the wind whipping around her wrists, ankles and the end of her taile, her eyes slightly going a little more slitted and wild, her battle form. Even through she was happy, but this would certainly ease her pain.
"There's muscles are nice you know... I like them, makes you look better... Heh, maybe you should be the Fellhound Alpha? I'd bet you'd look cool as one..." She glanced around and slowly led him down a street and turned the corner as she talked, it was just one night, but...
When they were in a street where no one was around and looked really unused she started speaking again. "You think you could do that for me? I nice strong fellhound Alpha, if you're gonna spend this one night with me you might as well be a leader... Muscles, yeah, alot of those, you've gotta be strong, but you've gotta look cool... I always wondered what you'd look like as leader of the fellhounds..."
