Gyre looked skyward and his ears flicked back, a look of absolute forlorn misery coming over his face. "Ah man...Why doesn't the elevator go up all the way and why are there multiple stairwells? Whoever made this place deserves to die! Horribly." Despite the fact that said person was probably already dead, and it might very well have been horrible. Wow, Gyre was such a considerate person. "I don't suppose you can....?" Gyre started to question, glancing at Larius' wings pointedly. But no, Gyre didn't expect to be offered a lift. "Arg...okay, let's go."

"Yes he is probably dead but it would help if we had his floor plan of this building. I feel like a mountain climber on the inside of a mountain." He looked at Gyre and said "Even if the stairs were tall enough for me to fly, my wingspan is too wide to fly inside..." Larius stretched his wings and the tips were folded against the wall. "Besides the elevator shaft does go up further but the shaft is blocked so I couldn't go any further."

"How oddly convenient that it should be blocked on the same floor I landed on..." Gyre didn't like coincidence. "Ah, whatever. Come on then, next stairwell."
He found it easily enough and began another tiring climb upwards, stepping over wooden beams and Sheetrock that had fallen from the walls. "What do you think happened here anyways? It's dang creepy is what it is...Whoa!" Suddenly he shouted as he slipped on a patch of ice, landing on his chin. He flinched, growled, and got back up, glaring over his shoulder at Larius, daring him to laugh.

Larius grinned in amusement to the glare that Gyre was giving him and moved on. "I think that this building was a big business building that was shut down when the world froze over. But something else must have come through this hole." Larius pointed to a large opening that wasen't there the last time that he had visited. "What ever that was lets hope we don't run into it here."

((Ooh! Do you have something actiony planned like something popping out at them and attacking? 'Cause we need something like that to spice this thread up....))
Gyre sighed and returned to his feet, stumbling a little again, but grabbing the rail for support. And he continued up. "How long ago was the last time you were here again?" he asked. "I mean...if something else was here...are you sure whatever you're looking for hasn't been taken? Just a thought. But we could be hiking up these stairs for the next however long for nothing."

"All I have is a gut feeling and the trust in my friend on keeping his word." Larius chuckled as they ascended the never-ending stairs. Larius paused for a moment and closed his eyes and imagined where his friend could have stashed his item. All of a sudden it came to Larius where his item could be... in the secret hiding place in the top floor of the building. "Dude I know where it is and..." Larius trailed off and noticed a white object on the next landing after the stairs. He approached the object and lifted it up. The object was a skull of one of the workers that Larius met on his last visit. "For the record Gyre was here two years ago and this definitly wasn't here before..."

"It's on the record," Gyre said dryly as he came to stand next to him, eyes narrowed at the ugly yellowed sort of white of the skull. "Where's the rest of the body? And who killed this poor sucker?" As he spoke he took a step back, and then his eyes darkened as he looked away. Though they were in a closed-in building, a sudden rush of wind swept past them, then whipped around, focusing around Gyre's hands which he held out a little from his sides. The wind condensed and took on almost a color, a faint smokey black that twisted over his hands. That's the power of a galehoud for you.
"I don't like this place so much..." he murmured darkly.

"I never liked coming here, but this is just the skull of the poor creature. I have no idea where the rest of this things body is, but I bet it has something to do with that huge hole in the wall a few flights down..." In a flash something brushed against Larius and he lit up like a christmas tree with electricity. He spun around and the thing was gone.
"Yo Gyre, did you see or smell anything?"

"I smell burned fur!" Gyre snapped suddenly. Gyre had backed up away from Larius and was now pressed against the rail of the stairs, clutching his left arm. A burn mark was there--from Larius' lightning, though Gyre hadn't cried out. But it hurt like heck. "Watch it next time you decide to go thunder bird! At least warn me! Eeesh!"
Gyre was growling and pressing himself back further against the rail, but his eyes were darting around to either side, obediently looking for whatever it was that had spooked Larius. "....Why? What did you see?"

"I thought I felt something..." Larius trailed off as he began to climb stairs for what felt like an eternity when all of a sudden CRASH. Larius bolted for the door on the top of the stairs as if the floor had fell beneath their feet. "GET OVER HERE QUICKLY!!!" Larius screamed as he hurled a bolt of electricity just over Gyres head that was strong enough to light up the building."

Gyre yelped--as I'm sure you would too--when a solid white bolt of thousands of volts of electricity hurtled over his head. But he didn't look back to see what Larius was aiming at. He didn't look, didn't question, he just ran like heck.
The wind was kicking up at his feet, spurring him on, and he was lunging up the stairs on all fours, until he skidded to a halt--still on all fours like a wild dog--next to Larius. He spun, panting, heart panicking, to see what it was...

Out of the darkness the bolt of energy lit up everything around its landing area. A huge mass of darkness stood out from everything around that was lit. Larius glimpsed the surrounding area and was shocked to see so many skeletons in one place. The light was gone and Larius busted down the door that they were standing in front of and heran through the doorway. "Come on Gyre, we have a better chance if there is more room to fight!"

"But what the heck is that?!" Gyre protested as he ran through the door after him. He leapt back up to two proper legs, but his eyes were dark, darker than before. Getting darker, not just the irises, but the whites of his eyes, until it seemed there were only empty sockets in their place. The wind picked up around him, at his "mane" on the back of his neck. Black wind. "What's coming?" he repeated in a low voice, growling, as though to warn whatever it was.

Larius and Gyre broke into an empty room before doing anything else. Larius turned on the spot and the said "I have no idea what that was or who it was. I just assumed that we needed to get away from whatever it was as soon as possible." Larius looked around and started feeling the wall for a door. He felt a knob and the Larius turned it, the doorway led to another big room that was lined with thousands cubicles.
"Okay I know that there can be a lot of cubicles in one building but this is ridiculous!"

Gyre turned to look with his black eyes over his shoulder at Larius and the door he'd opened. The wind again swept around him, churning up snow like dust. "Especially seeing as how...I don't think the building was big enough horizontally... I mean, is it just me, or does this place seem bigger on the inside than the outside?" he asked.
He backed up into the room with the cubicles next to Larius. "Something's....not right. Freaking me out..."
